Digital Underwater Photographer $299
Underwater photography is one of the most popular diving specialties, and with so many underwater cameras to choose from, it has become easier and more fun than ever to capture images of your underwater scuba adventures. The PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course gets you going quickly, whether you use a point-and-shoot camera or a sophisticated dSLR like the pros.
Because underwater photography is also popular with snorkelers, there is an option for avid snorkelers and skin divers to complete the course. Talk to us if this interests you.
Through hands-on training during two scuba dives and guidance from your PADI Professional, you’ll discover:
Beyond using basic scuba equipment, you’ll need a camera and a computer or other device for downloading and viewing your images. We recommend the KRAKEN Smart housing $649 for a good starting point as it allows you to use your mobile phone to capture images underwater.
The Good Part
Day 1 of the course starts at the shop.
You will meet your instructor, undertake a review and then get out on the water.
Dive 1 and 2 will relate to building skills after each dive you and your instructor will discuss your photos and what you found.
On return you will use software to improve your images and work with your instructor to learn the different settings.
If you are a Husky Diver, you can use your $100 Dive Credit to pay for another day of diving to take some more images and go over those as well with the instructor.
